Return Filing for AY 2021-22

Ideally, the month of July is frenzy for income tax department with individual taxpayers scrambling to file their returns before the deadline for ITR-1 & 4 ends. Since the COVID pandemic first hit in 2019, the finance department has extended slew of measures to alleviate pain and suffering of taxpayers especially in terms of financial hardship, including pushing of deadlines for filing of returns. For AY 2021-22, the deadlines for individual taxpayers is now 30/09/2021 and for firms and companies, which are audited, is now 30/11/2021.
